Theoretical and methodological research
Developing new methodologies is a core mission of this group. This means coming up with new ways to integrate and analyze data from different sources and at different resolutions, and new mathematical models that can make sense of these data to predict epidemic risk and vulnerability, analyze scenarios and evaluate interventions.
Here, we use methodologies from
- statistical physics and complex network theory,
- Bayesian statistics,
- Deep-learning.
We integrate data on
- epidemic and vector surveillance,
- human mobility, behavior and mixing,
- demography and socioeconomics,
- climate and weather.
